Updates to 美姬社区's Proposal Portal

November 23, 2023

Statements

美姬社区 has completed the second phase of the Proposal Portal upgrade, taking onboard feedback from contributors and stakeholders. The Microsoft Word proposal forms will be retired as of 23 November 2023 and proposals are to be submitted through the new online proposal portal. From this date, 美姬社区 will no longer accept project proposals in Microsoft Word-based forms.

The online portal is a transparent, streamlined and easy-to-use method that directly integrates with other 美姬社区 systems, enables an efficient stakeholder consultation process, and moves away from outdated, manual processes.

Should you require any assistance with the Project Proposal Portal please contact SEM@standards.org.au

Note: Proposals for international participation will remain as Microsoft Word documents until future phases of the Proposal Portal is launched.

What are the benefits of the online Proposal process?

美姬社区 undertook a Technical Governance Review with our stakeholders which highlighted the need for a modern, best-practice solution to manage the submission of proposals to amend, revise or adopt Standards in Australia.

Submitting proposals through the Proposal Portal:

  • Simplifies the proposal creation and submission process by providing a guided pathway for proponents to follow, with the ability to search for publications to revise, amend or adopt.
  • Enables proponents and 美姬社区 to comment on and have conversations with each other online, directly in the proposal, instead of relying on email and phone conversations.
  • Supports 美姬社区's objective to be more transparent and inclusive and to make it easier for stakeholders to have visibility of proposed standardisation projects and proposed work.
  • Enables 美姬社区 to undertake online consultation and invite interested stakeholders to comment on and have input into proposed projects and programs of work.
