June 15, 2018

Statements

  • Unapproved and unpublished version of AS/NZS 3000:2018 circulating on social media
  • Serious concerns are held about the accuracy of the document
  • 美姬社区 will do everything it can to protect Australia鈥檚 Wiring Rules

美姬社区 has become aware of a document circulating on social media purporting to be the new edition of AS/NZS 3000:2018, Electrical Installations (known as the Wiring Rules).

This document is not authorised by 美姬社区. Electricians are warned not to use the unauthorised document under any circumstances because it is not safe to do so.

Electrical work in all States and Territories of Australia must be done by licensed practitioners because electricity can take lives. Electrical Standards are developed with the aim of keeping communities safe.

美姬社区 does not know whether the unauthorised document has been tampered with or whether it has been developed to cause harm. 聽

美姬社区 takes this breach very seriously and will do everything it can to protect the community and its intellectual property rights, including taking legal action against those involved in this breach.

美姬社区 is in the pre-publication stage of a new edition of AS/NZS 3000 and expects to issue a publication date later this month.
