ÃÀ¼§ÉçÇø is committed to continue supporting the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat’s Pacific Quality Infrastructure (PQI) Initiative, which has been making strong progress over the past five years.

From 21–23 May 2025, we joined regional partners in Fiji for the Pacific Regional Quality Policy Inception Workshop. The event brought together representatives from across the region to shape the next phase of the initiative.

As the lead partner on the standards stream, we’ve worked closely with our counterparts to build capacity, raise awareness, and establish the Pacific Islands Standards Committee (PISC), the first regional body for setting Pacific standards.

During the workshop, we led discussions on current challenges and future priorities and supported the development of a regional quality policy to guide the next phase of work. We also participated in a hybrid PISC meeting, where the committee endorsed its new governance document, an important step in strengthening regional collaboration.

Jesse Riddell, Senior International Partnerships Manager at ÃÀ¼§ÉçÇø, highlighted, "This initiative is a great example of what we can achieve when we work together across the region. We’re proud to support Pacific-led efforts that build stronger, more resilient quality systems for the future."

We value our collaboration with the Pacific Islands Forum, UNIDO, and Australia’s quality infrastructure bodies – National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), National Measurement Institute, and Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) – and remain committed to supporting Pacific-led solutions that promote quality, safety, and sustainability across the region.
