Today, �������� Ltd announced the removal of AS/NZS 4755.3.3:2014 - Demand response capabilities and supporting technologies for electrical products, Part 3.3: Interaction of demand response enabling devices and electrical products — Operational instructions and connections for electric storage and electric-boosted storage water heaters from circulation.  

�������� became aware that elements of this document may be subject to patent rights held by Rheem Australia Pty Limited (Rheem).  

In line with its Patent Policy, �������� is unable to provide authoritative or comprehensive information about the evidence, validity or scope of patents or similar rights.  

In instances where a standard or other technical document is developed and a relevant patent or patent application has been disclosed, �������� requests the patent holder to provide a written statement using the appropriate “Patent Statement and Licensing Declaration” Form to be filed with ��������.  

In the case of AS/NZS 4755.3.3:2014, while �������� and Rheem have engaged in lengthy negotiations, a “Patent Statement and Licensing Declaration” has not been provided on terms satisfactory to both parties.  

As a result, �������� is removing AS/NZS 4755.3.3:2014 from circulation with effect from Friday 26^th July 2024 and will be notifying users and other relevant stakeholders in due course.
