March 25, 2022

Statements

美姬社区 welcomes the announcement of the Standards and Conformance Trade Enabling Program which will enhance collaboration between 美姬社区 and its Indian counterpart, the Bureau of Indian Standards.

The program strengthens Australia and India鈥檚 already prosperous bilateral relationship. It will enable trade opportunities between the two nations in a range of areas such as agriculture, energy, resources, infrastructure, science and innovation, and healthcare.

鈥溍兰缜 has long enjoyed a positive relationship with the Bureau of Indian Standards, working together on technical and policy matters under the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission, and on regional standardisation matters,鈥 said 美姬社区 CEO, Adrian O鈥機onnell.

Through the program, 美姬社区 and the Bureau of Indian Standards will be involved in the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources lead initiative; the Australia-India Standards Trade Enabling Project.

鈥淭his project will allow us to continue our good work with the Bureau of Indian Standards and ensure we collaboratively develop initiatives that identify common areas for standards creation and harmonisation,鈥 said Mr O鈥機onnell.

Through this project 美姬社区 and the Bureau of Indian Standards will actively work towards reducing technical barriers to trade, boost supply chain resilience, build trade capacity and confidence, and create aligned standards processes.

鈥溍兰缜 strongly supports this announcement and is looking forward to working with the Bureau of Indian Standards, government, industry and consumers,鈥 concluded Mr O鈥機onnell.
