A more strategic, open and proactive 美姬社区

July 9, 2018

Statements

Following a review spanning well over 12 months, 美姬社区 has outlined changes to be implemented as part of its Technical Governance Review.鈥淭his is an exciting step forward for 美姬社区,鈥 said Ms Kareen Riley-Takos, General Manager 鈥 Operations at 美姬社区. 鈥淓ach year, 美姬社区 works with over 5,000 contributors to publish hundreds of standards meaning any step to improve our processes will have a substantial impact on a number of sectors.鈥

The Technical Governance Review, underpinned by a report from cameron. ralph. khoury, found 美姬社区 should strive to be:

  • More strategic in setting its development priorities and in articulating the cost/benefit and impact of its work;
  • More open in its processes with inclusion, transparency and community accessibility being key themes in all areas of work; and
  • More proactive in quality assurance with a particular focus on the quality of input, standards development decision making and standards development dispute resolution.

鈥淭here are a number of areas to be implemented for the coming financial year,鈥 said Ms Riley-Takos. 鈥淲e have been discussing how to improve the work of 美姬社区 for some time now. We have engaged contributors, staff, nominating organisations, governments, and the Australian public to ensure the future of 美姬社区 is one continuing to deliver beyond expectations.

鈥淭he initiatives identified for implementation are to be some of the most exciting changes to 美姬社区 processes in its history, and we can all look forward to a more effective, efficient, and engaging process of developing standards for the Australian community.鈥 听For more information, view the Technical Governance Review Implementation Plan.
