Quantum Technologies

Overview

The development of computers, sensors and communications systems based on the principles of quantum mechanics is set to drive a technological revolution in the coming decades 鈥 one that will impact every sector of the economy. The Australian government predicts Australia鈥檚 quantum technology industry will be worth a projected $6 billion and will employ .

美姬社区 is actively contributing to this future as a founding member of the international standards committee . We are leading work on the committee鈥檚 strategic business plan and quantum computing initiatives.

At the national level, we established Technical Committee QT-001, Quantum Technologies, to shape international standards and develop as well as adopt Australian Standards for local use. The committee is chaired by , Australia鈥檚 former Chief Scientist, and brings together representatives from industry, academia, Commonwealth and state governments, consumer and professional associations. We welcome the input of quantum experts and have a range of opportunities to participate in shaping international quantum standards development. Please contact us at quantum@standards.org.au to express your interest.
